Wow , 96 years old

France 'responsible' for Holocaust deaths

Papon was convicted in 1998 by a French court for complicity in crimes against humanity for his role in the deportation of 1,590 Jews from the city of Bordeaux.

Most of the deportees later perished at the concentration camp at Auschwitz in modern day Poland. Papon died in February 2007, aged 96, after serving part of his term and then being freed on health grounds.

Wow. He lived to be 96. Cool ! I hope I live that long.

And for his terrible , terrible crimes ... you're chasing around a (then) 87 year old man and arresting him ? I'm sorry , but all the victems are in their graves and he himself has one foot in his grave. I think maybe it's far far too late to be chasing people for this matter. They've had a full and rich life and all you're doing is providing free health care to them while they're in jail so they can live another ten years and sadly confess their crimes.

Bet if you had left him alone he would have died long ago.

Bet he cost the french government a fortune in health care.

I'll even bet he knew it , and turned himself in because he knew he'd get free healthcare in jail and that would give him a few more years.

They're now working the system one last time. Getting just a little more out of it before they check out. Give it up and just dump them.
