Maritime Pirates

MPs vote in favour of Liberal budget amendment

However, there is growing backlash within the Liberal caucus. Ignatieff was scrambling Monday to appease at least four Liberal MPs from Newfoundland and Labrador, who say the budget singles out their province and robs it of an estimated $1.6 billion in federal transfer payments.

Ah, the Maritime Pirates, another Liberal Disaster waiting to put egg on their face.

Newfoundland and Labrador found oil off shore ! Cool ! Now they're rich !

But don't try and take away our welfare money ! Don't try and treat us as a Have province instead of a Have Not province ! Keep that money from Ontario and Alberta flowing AND we wanna keep the oil money too ! And we're gonna kick up a real big fuss about it too ! GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME !!!!!

It's the soul of the Liberal Party , if you ask me. They have truely found their home, and are surrounded by people that totally agree with that attitude.

Welcome to the Liberal Party. Now fork over your wallet. Private individuals wait for the trickle down as we TAX TAX TAX them. Everyone else we give money to by the truck load.

Just following your orders. Like the post. Noticed one source saying Danny is lessening the pressure on Iggy. Wonder if he discovered that we all know he was given the equalization numbers in Nov, not last week.
Conservatives are supposedly upset at the size of the deficit, how would they react to increasing it by 1.6 billon to make Danny happy.
If Iggy does not punish those liberals from NL, others will rebel on other votes.
They could just miss the vote.

Iggy has what , 77 votes ? He only needs 12 , maybe 13 , to vote with the Conservatives to pass a measure. Letting half the party vote against it is a real good pressure tactic actually.

And it works because the conservatives are *THAT* close to a majority. It's razor thin how close they are. Cracks me up some times.

This article may interest you. Maybe your post should be retitled - you know, in true Canadian fashion - to be more inclusive. ;-)

Hey, nice place you have here! And very good post.

Danny should be proud that his province is no longer a have-not; he is greedy and the rest of the country is getting really tired of him and his blackmailing, especially after paying their way for sooooo long.

Hey Gabby

The point of a blog is to add your own personal comment to a news article. Not just quote it and then stand back and say nothing but "Have a look at this"
