A proposal for internet age television

Article - no reference, this is my own idea.

podcasting has inspired me. If you can make an mp3 file with say , a BBC broadcast, and bury the commericals in it , why can't you make MPG's (movie format files) and imbed a few commercials here and there, and voila ! internet television.

play it when you want, free to the users , no way to avoid the ad's so the advertisers are happy to pay our Simpsons Addiction , and easy to market too. (50,000 downloads of this episode this week , only 5 thousand of that ... guess we charge higher for this show than that ... )

No guessing with what channel the consumer is watching (put a bug in THEIR television ? Their private equipment ? To see what they watch ? Illegal immoral , and you can hear the activits screaming all ready... but count how many times a file was downloaded , no need to keep track of who downloaded it... that works much better)

I give it a much better chance of surviving than regular television , because even the commercial hating testimonial despising ME will put up with such things for one or two good shows , though definately not for most of the rot out there.
