Tamil Protest on Parliment Hill

Tamil supporters spend 7th day camped out in Ottawa

Tamil supporters lined Wellington St., just in front of Parliament Hill, for a seventh day Monday.

They are demanding an end to Sri Lankan government attacks against Tamil citizens and the Tamil Tiger rebel group, which has waged a civil war for more than two decades in an effort to secure an independent state.

The protesters say the Sri Lankan government is committing acts of genocide against the population and are demanding the Canadian government take action to end the conflict.

Well that doesn't sound good.

Hmm... says the Tamil Tigers are a terrorist group .... you don't mind if I google them do you ?

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (Tamil: தமிழீழவிடுதலைப்புலிகள், ISO 15919: tamiḻ iiḻa viṭutalaip pulikaḷ; commonly known as the LTTE or the Tamil Tigers) is a militant organization based in northern Sri Lanka. Founded in 1976, it has since actively waged a violent secessionist campaign that seeks to create an independent Tamil state in the north and east of Sri Lanka

Violent ..how violent ?

... and for recruiting child soldiers. The LTTE invented the suicide belt and is widely known for suicide bombing as a tactic. They also pioneered the use of women in suicide attacks.

Ow !!

...killing five Indian para-commandos who were on board by strapping burning tires around their necks ...

Ow !!

As early as the mid-1970s, LTTE rebels were widely known to have trained members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Southern Lebanon,

Ow !!

Thank you , supporters of the Tamil Tigers , for volinteering to identify yourselves as collaborators of a known terrorist group. It is my feverant hope the RCMP will now arrest all of you , fingerprint and photograph you , and deliver you to the proper Sri Lanka authorities for legal disposition under their laws.

As I'm sure you know, associating with terrorists is a violation of your immigration applications and they are therefore easily revoked due to this.
