Quebec dad sued by daughter after grounding loses his appeal

Article

A Quebec father who was taken to court by his 12-year-old daughter after he grounded her in June 2008 has lost his appeal.

Quebec Superior Court rejected the Gatineau father's appeal of a lower court ruling that said his punishment was too severe for the wrongs he said his daughter committed

Now what the heck is this case doing in a court room in the first place ? It is obvious that the lawyers in Quebec have nothing better to do with their time than manufacture cases like this so as to make work for themselves.

Since you have decided to interfere in the relationship between a father and his 12 year old daughter (for grounding ? he didn't even spank her or anything ?) I think the state should now pick up the tab for raising the child , since it's obvious such petty things as internet access and whether a grounding is just or unjust have suddenly become provincial issues.

If you're going to interfere in the family , if you're going to take it over and run it, then you need to pick up the tab as well. None of this you pay the bills and we tell you what to do business. You want to sit down at the table , you ante up.
