Nearly 200 soldiers kept home from Afghanistan over drug use: report

Article

Nearly 200 Canadian soldiers slated for deployment to Afghanistan have been kept home because they tested positive for drug use, documents show.

So only healthy people go to war, the dopers get to say hope and dope up ?

Of those who failed, the majority tested positive for marijuana, while other tests showed harder drugs, such as cocaine, methamphetamine and amphetamines.

Quick ! Gimme a joint ! I've just been scheduled for deployment to afghanistan and need an excuse to get out of it !

lol !

This is ridiculous. Send the dope smokers to the front, don't reward them ! Send them first ! sheesh !

If the soldiers are stoned are they not more likely to cause a problem because they do not follow orders. I don't know but if I were the soldier beside them I would want to know that the guy protecting my back was not stoned

This is a problem yes, but providing a "back door" to get out of combat duty is also a problem. i'm not going to throw some lame solution off the cuff that won't solve the problem down on the table for discussion.

I'm merely noticing ... this is a problem. Somewhere, somehow ...something should be done about it.
