Pope 'meant no offence' to Islam

Article

The Vatican has denied that Pope Benedict XVI intended any offence to the Muslim religion, after a speech touching on the concept of holy war.

Speaking in Germany, the Pope quoted a 14th Century Christian emperor who said the Prophet Muhammad had brought the world only "evil and inhuman" things.

I didn't mean to insult you , I just wanted to point out that your religion is the epitomb of evil.

quote from speach
The emperor, after having expressed himself so forcefully, goes on to explain in detail the reasons why spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable. Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul.

What you have is a long , reasoned debate that violence to forward religious ends is a bad thing (I agree), and repeatedly mentioning Muslims as doing precisely that.

Well....

Yup. Call a spade a spade. How many places around the world do muslims inflict violence upon non-muslims ? Lots.

The black cat complains it is colored black. This is the cats fault , not the observers.

Umm.... the pope says you're bad because you spread your religion by the sword (you're violent). Next day you go out and commit a few acts of violence in protest of this.

Yup. Evil is as Evil does.
