The Newsies Speak

I get up and watch CNN every morning with my breakfast.

They're big on counting US casualties and claiming how
awful it is. We lost 80 people this month, gasp ! That's
horrible.

Right.

There are 150 000 american troops in Iraq. 80 a month is a fraction of one percent. Assuming 80 a month for 6 months, the average tour of duty for a soldier , it means your soldier has a %0.32 chance of dying. A third of one percent. This is not combat fatalities. This is traffic accident statistics.

If this is the best the muslim insurgants can inflict upon the US then THEY ARE LOSING ! Big time.

But CNN has a different story to tell. And I do mean story. Thanks to this illustrius bastian of journalistic integredy , it seems to all the west that in fact the americans are losing , not the muslim terrorist.

It is expected that the terrorists will front a propaganda war against us. It is not expected that our own newspapers will help them.

and why are they helping them ? Follow the money , which in this case isnt hard.

Bad news sells papers. Cut a deal with the terrorists , leave our reporters alone and we'll do right by you in the newspaper articles, and volia. American reporters get to wander the war scene almost unharmed (the terrorists are badly organized , there's always a few that don't get the word and kidnap an american anyways) as long as they continue to print anti-american stories, as long as they continue to show muslim mothers crying at what the cruel americans did ... and the guys holding guns to the reporters heads are never shown and the money keeps rolling in.

And a war the US is winning , is portrayed as one that they are losing , and now they some how have to explain WHY they are losing this war to their own people when in fact they are not.

It all sells print.
It's totally dishonest.
Thus speak The Newsies.
